Hitoshi Zao
Hitoshi Zao was a housemate on the fourth season of Sims Big Brother. He entered the House on Day 1. He was placed on the coral team on the first night. Though he had formed close bonds in the first week, he failed to get into the swing of things in terms of the game. He chose to quit on Day 6, finding the pressure to be too much.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Hitoshi Zao was born in Korea. He migrated to the United States with his family when he was six. Being an outcast in school, he became involved in the drama department. Hitoshi learned that he had a talent for dancing, and when he graduated high school pursued a career as a dancer. He participated in a number of music videos and stage productions. He had not seen the show prior to being cast, and was found due to his work in the entertainment industry. He felt that he would come across as non-threatening to his fellow housemates, allowing him to surprise them at the end with his competition wins. He felt that he would work better with women than men, as he was not an "alpha" type. He hoped to use the prize money, should he win, to attend a dance school.
Hitoshi entered the House on Day 1. He was placed in the coral team in the season's first twist. He developed friendships with several housemates, and kept a low profile during his time in the game. He often questioned the rules and format of the game, and seemed unaware of what was going on in the House. Within the first few days, he began to grow distant and seemed depressed in the House. He met with the show's psychologist on Day 5 to discuss his feelings, and expressed that he was considering going home. Following a dramatic couple of days due to that week's nominations, Hitoshi began to feel that it was bad for his mental health to remain in the game. He chose to voluntarily leave the House on Day 6, making him the first in the main series to do so.
Upon exiting the House, Hitoshi was met with a mixed reaction from fans. While many felt bad for the mental struggled he had in the game, some felt that he had taken a spot from someone that would have enjoyed being in the game. He appeared on The Big Brother Mash-Up to discuss his time in the House as well as his decision to quit. He returned to a normal life after this, and has not returned to the series since.
