Leslie Sammons was a housemate on the first season of Big Brother. She entered the House on Day 1, and began plotting from the start. She was the founding member of the Bomb Squad alliance, and worked to form bonds with the women. She was an integral part of uniting the House against the Tres Hermanos alliance. Her ability to manipulate her fellow housemates made the others grow suspicious of her, and she was targeted in the latter half of the game and successfully evicted. Labeled as a strong strategist, Leslie's gameplay was well received. She is credited for orchestrating the eviction of several housemates in the early weeks that were poised to go far in the game. She became a host of the spin-off series The Big Brother Mash-Up for the first three seasons, though left the series due to her then-upcoming wedding. She has made guest appearances on the series since her departure, and continues to be a fan of the show.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Leslie Sammons was born in a small town in Minnesota. Due to her father's work, she and her family moved to New York at the age of thirteen. Leslie grew up with a passion for writing, and dreamed of being a writer or reporter as an adult. While in college, she began to realize that she had a talent and passion for editing works, and pursued a career in publishing. She graduated college and got her dream job, and has had a healthy career since. She applied for the show as she believed that she was a strong speaker, and could convince housemates to do her bidding for her. Leslie described herself as "articulate, calm, and calculating". Her goal in life would be to write and publish her own book and be a best selling author. She claimed that the hardest part about being in the House would be not having social media. Leslie's biggest fear is never finding love, and her greatest accomplishment is getting a degree. She hoped to use the show's prize money to vacation and buy a new home.

Leslie entered the House on Day 1. Wanting a group of allies that had a similar strategy as herself, she formed the Bomb Squad alliance with Mitchell and Shavan. The trio agreed to remain under the radar in the game and allow the others to evict one another. Despite her plans to not put a target on her back, she orchestrated the show's first vote flip in the second week, convincing the others to evict Cameron and target the Tres Hermanos alliance. While doing so, she formed the Secret Six alliance, consisting of her original allies along with Ozzie, Tia, and Tommie. The alliance succeeded in evicting Brad and Brandon in the next two weeks, putting them in a good spot. When outcast Stallone came into power during the show's first double eviction, he nominated Leslie and Shavan for eviction. He hoped to see Leslie evicted from the House, seeing her as a mastermind of the alliance that formed to target him and his friends. Mitchell won the Power of Veto competition, and removed Leslie from the block. This was the first time that the Veto had been used in the series. Kat was nominated as the replacement nominee, and was subsequently evicted. This ensured that the Secret Six remained intact for another week.

When Shavan became the next Head of Household, Leslie plotted to get Ozzie out of the House due to his strength in competitions. She managed to get the other housemates on board, and Ozzie became the first member of the jury. That night, Leslie became the new Head of Household after winning the "The S'more the Merrier" competition. She set her sights on Stallone, who she saw as a strong threat and someone that could beat her in the end. She nominated Andy and Tommie for eviction, and when Tommie won the Power of Veto she placed Stallone on the chopping block. He was evicted that week. Annalise won the next HoH competition, and the housemates discussed eliminating Leslie due to her strong gameplay throughout the season. The whole House was soon on board, including her fellow Bomb Squad members. She was nominated for eviction against Mitchell, and when he won that week's Power of Veto he was replaced with Shavan. Despite strong attempts to gain votes in the House, Leslie was evicted in a unanimous vote. She spent a total of 51 days in the House. She was, as expected, an influential member of the jury, and is credited with earning Shavan the votes to win the season.

Upon leaving the House, Leslie resumed her career and attempted to go back to a fairly normal life. She was contacted about becoming a host of the show's first spin-off series, The Big Brother Mash-Up, alongside fellow housemate Andy Finley. The pair hosted the show with a number of guests throughout the season, and were asked to return for the show's second season as well. It was announced after the third season that Leslie had opted not to continue on hosting the show, due to her upcoming wedding. Though not a main host, she did return in a guest spot in the next season. Her wedding to an author was a success, and the couple have lived happily since. Leslie made a return to The Big Brother Mash-Up in a guest spot for the show's sixth season.
