Biography[edit | edit source]
Jim Holt was born and raised in Indiana. He grew up in a conservative household, being the son of a preacher. Much like his parents, he identified as a republican and held strong opinions on political and social topics. He became a radio show host when he was twenty-two, and became a controversial figure in the media. He had not watched the show prior to being cast, and was chosen to appear based on his polarizing views. It was believed by the producers that he would spark interesting conversations in the group. He believed that he could win the game as the viewers would respect his honesty and brashness, and promised to cause drama in the game. He hoped to use the prize money, should he win the season, to renew his vows with his wife of twenty years.
Jim entered the House on Day 1. He failed to make strong connections with his fellow housemates, and claimed that he did not care about being friends with them. He engaged in several arguments about social and political topics with housemates such as Brayden and Jada, and as a result grew to be disliked by the viewers. Despite him clashing with several housemates, he was not nominated in the first week. He openly asked the viewers to evict Luke that week if he were nominated, believing that a transgender housemate should not have been included in the House. By the end of the week, several housemates spoke of their intentions to nominate him the next week. He had a high opinion of himself, and stated on several occasions that it was "beneath him" to live in the House with certain others. He chose to exit the House voluntarily on Day 10, the first housemate to quit in the show's history. He left the House through the Diary Room, and the housemates learned of his departure about two hours later.
Upon exiting the House, Jim went on to bash his fellow housemates in the media as well as the show as a whole. He was invited to appear on an episode of The Big Brother Mash-Up, but made it public that he refused to participate in anything to do with the show again.
