Biography[edit | edit source]
Ian Nguyen was born and raised in Maryland. Growing up with parents that encouraged him to have fun, he is energetic and full of laughs. He had a passion for drawing and designing that he developed as a teen, and earned his bachelor's degree in graphic design. He is a massive fan of the show, and applied as a result. He cited Andy Finley as his favorite former housemate, enjoying the games and practical jokes that he played on the other housemates. Ian believed that his fun energy would make his fellow housemates want to keep him around, and allow him to not be seen as a strong threat. He believed that the hardest part of being in the House would be being away from his dog, and thought the best part would be not having social media. He hoped to use the prize money, should he win, to pay his student loans and get a home.
Ian entered the House on Day 1. Moments after all the housemates had entered, one housemate was asked to enter the Diary Room. Ian was the first to enter and learned that he had been crowned the first Head of Household of the season. He had thirty minutes to decide on his nominations, and chose Amalia and Nick. He formed the Quatro alliance with Ben, Chelsea, and Jasmin. Nick used the Power of Veto on himself, and Sam was nominated in his place. Though Ian and his allies hoped to see Sam evicted, the other housemates chose to evict Amalia. His alliance took a hit in the next two weeks. Jasmin was evicted in the second week, and the group was blindsided once again in the third eviction of the season. Ian was nominated with Camila in the fourth week, but was saved when Brian used the Power of Veto that week. Despite surviving the week, Ian was nominated once again in the double eviction night that followed. Seen as the leader of his alliance, Ian was evicted from the House on Day 30.
Upon leaving the House, he hosted several club nights and made appearances. He moved to Los Angeles to pursue career opportunities in the graphic design field, and also began to venture into acting. He had some small television spots, though nothing much came of it. He has remained a staple of the franchise due to his popularity with fans, and makes frequent appearances on The Big Brother Mash-Up. He did the cast interviews for the second season of Big Brother: Danger Zone with Tia Jones. He also participated in advertisements and commercials to promote the third season.
